Content Guidelines for Young Writer Coaching Calls
Submissions should not include depictions of the act of suicide or explicit sex scenes. Please include a content note at the top of your document if your writing features the following:
- Devils, demons, or demonic forces
- Swearing or racial slurs
- Abuse, whether physical, emotional, or sexual
- Self-harm, eating disorders, or suicide. Writing that includes depictions of the act of suicide (attempted or successful) should not be submitted.
- Sexual encounters or sexual temptation. Writing that includes explicit sex scenes should not be submitted.
- LGBT+ topics
- Recreational drug use or alcohol abuse
- Wizardry, witchcraft, or sorcery
- Potentially gross descriptions of injuries or medical issues
- Torture, cannibalism, or other heavy violence
- Discussion of hate crimes towards real-life groups and cultures
- Child death, miscarriage, or abortion
- Struggles and issues related to mental health or trauma
Please also mention a content note before discussing any of these topics as they apply to your story during your coaching call.
