How Can I Access the Live Sessions?

Go to the Summit Home Page, then choose the session you want to watch. On the session page, we’ll begin streaming through the embedded YouTube video at the start of the hour. You may need to click the “Play” button in order to watch the livestream.

How Long Are the Sessions?

Each session will be 45-60 minutes each.

What Should I Do If the Video Doesn’t Play?

If you get an “Unavailable Video” error, check with your parent to see if there are any YouTube restrictions on your device. If you get the “Playback On Other Devices Has Been Disabled” error, try waiting two minutes and then refreshing the page. The issue should be fixed at that point. If it persists, click the “Watch on YouTube” link to watch the session off YouTube.

Why Aren’t My Chat Messages Showing up?

All messages must be approved by one of our moderators in order to show up in the chat. Please do not send messages asking why a chat message was not approved. After the end of the live session, no further chat messages will show up.

Why Can’t I Chat on YouTube?

The YouTube chat is disabled. However, you can still chat with other attendees on the individual session pages on our website (below the video on desktop and at the bottom of the screen on mobile.)

Are the Sessions Recorded?

Yes! All the sessions are recorded and can be watched for free until the end of the summit (7 AM EDT on Wednesday, August 21st for our international viewers). After the end of the summit, only attendees who sign up for the Young Writers Workshop will be able to access the recordings.

How Do I Enter the Giveaways?

The giveaway for each speaker will open up at the beginning of their summit session and remain open until 7 AM EDT the following day. Your email is required to enter the giveaway. You can earn bonus entries for sharing a takeaway or highlight from the speaker’s presentation on social media (and indicating that you did so in the giveaway form). The giveaways are only open to U.S. residents.
